A former Guild member, Karen Newton, who had moved to Vancouver but who has now returned to Halifax, wanted to share this sewing story from the Vancouver Sun with everyone. Here’s an excerpt from the story that has its own video.

One day a month, Another Space, a creative arts therapy studio in East Vancouver, is opening its doors to anyone wanting to learn to sew. The idea of drop-in sewing classes came about after the Vancouver Tool Library was given an armload of old sewing machines. Nobody at the library knew quite how to use the devices, but in Sarah Peacock, manager Greg Stone found someone with the right knowledge and space.

Thank you very much, Karen! Welcome back and we hope to see you out at our next meeting!
