The Dressmaker – A Film to Look Out For

Our member Kathleen sent me information on a film called The Dressmaker (website, Wikipedia), IMDb) to share with you. It is an 2015 Australian revenge comedy drama film, directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, based on the novel of the same name by Rosalie Ham. It explores the themes of revenge, love and creativity and was described by Moorhouse as “Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven with a sewing machine.

Well, if that doesn’t get you clicking through on the links above about the film to find out more, I don’t know what would. Well, maybe the trailer below will.

Alas, it doesn’t seem this movie will be available in Canada any time soon. Tickets sold on its site is only for Australia. However, it’d be something to look out for by what I can tell! Perhaps a Guild movie night in the future, Kathleen suggests! 🙂
