If you can stomach this, the spring fashion shows are just wrapping up. I use the Style web site to look over the styles, and then I can save the ones I like in my ‘Lookbook”. It allows me to think about style lines I like, colours or textures that look interesting – a personal collection of design details I might like to try out. I find the hardest part locating designers I want to follow in the long list of possibilities. There’s a lot of junk out there too (IMO).
There is a day of lectures coming at NSCAD. It’s free to those of us smart people who signed up for the corset class – or any other class for that matter. It’s called Sow to Sew, and I’m thinking that will be an interesting day. If you have been thinking about the environmental and social cost of clothing this may be just what you need to add to the conversation. Now, where to lunch at break? If you’re coming as well, let me know and we can meet.
Sew With Vision has classes listed on their web site. The Great P!
Atlantic Fabrics has classes to check out.
Tandy Leather has classes coming up. They are located in Burnside, and I think there is a lot of crossover info we sewists can use too. I have tried to copy info from and email, and I hope it comes through well enough that you can understand what they offer.
